To often smaller local fisheries are lumped in with the noncompliant commercial fisheries; when in fact most small fisheries DO care about the Ocean and WANT To Be A Sustainable Business!
Every year Zen4Blue is dedicated to mentor and support a community nominated small commercial fishery who struggles financially to comply with new fishing regulations that require equipment upgrades and increased operating expenses to fish sustainably while balancing the health of our ocean ecosystem.
Zen4Blue will raise funds to help purchase fishing equipment upgrades and assist in implementing improved fishing practices to balance their business success and also protect the ocean from overconsumption. If we work together with our community fisheries dedicated to sustainable practices, they will survive and the ocean ecosystem will thrive!
